Strutting Peacock
Aviary
Beautiful, iridescent and elegant, peacocks are a sight to behold!
While most of us call them peacocks, technically that’s only correct for the males of this type of bird. Females are peahens, their babies are peachicks and together, they are called peafowl. A group of peafowl is called a ‘party’ or a ‘pride’!
Peafowls are able to fly despite their large size. However, they cannot fly for long periods, and often only fly when faced with danger.
